1 Week Down!

The first week is over! And for those of you attempting this challenge, I want to say CONGRATULATIONS! Getting through that first week is no easy task. Unfortunately, the first part of the second week is just as hard, if not harder than that first week.

In these first couple weeks your body is going to crave sugars like crazy and you may even crave some of that white bread, and those processed flours. So why do we crave sugar, AND why are we so tired these first two weeks? Well I can answer both of those questions with one reason. Sugar is essentially a drug! Now this may not be news to some of you, but for those of you who aren’t aware. When you cut all of that excess, processed sugar out of your body, you go through a form of withdrawal. You have gone from taking in all kinds of processed sugars, to none at all, and your body doesn’t like that! You’re only taking in natural sugars from fruits at this point, and in low quantities. So your body will start to go through withdrawal and get all of those left over sugars out, which is a good thing! Those processed sugars are like toxins in the body, and they want you to keep coming back for more. But rest assured, about halfway through this second week you’re going to start to feel more energized and just overall better because you will have gotten all of those sugars out! It just takes some time for your body to get back to it’s natural state of operating without those excess sugars, how we were meant to operate. The only advice I can give for getting through that is that you have come this far, JUST KEEP PUSHING!! I promise there is a light at the end of the tunnel, it just takes some hard-work and will-power to get there.

As I said I was going to post progress pictures each week! As you can see in the pictures, there is not much change yet, but you can definitely see less bloat in the stomach. And I can definitely say I feel less bloated, and I just feel much better about myself recently.

I’d love to hear how everyone else is doing with this, and please feel free to ask me any questions about anything you are feeling or struggling with! I’m more than happy to help!
